Bacchus Marsh Uniting Church
Living faith through caring, listening, sharing, worship & outreach.
We strive to be a safe place where God is honoured and people can find caring community that lends a listening ear, shares life together, discovers God’s amazing grace and has practical compassion for our neighbour’s need.
Together, we hear Jesus’ call to follow and go deeper into life’s fullness with God and with others on life’s way. God’s peace be with you.

Life Events
St Andrew’s and Pentland Hills Uniting Churches have played an important role in the community for life events for over 150 years and continue to do so today.
Baptism and Confirmation
The Uniting Church in Australia practices Baptism for those who confess the Christian faith themselves, and those who are presented for Baptism by parents or guardians. Confirmation is an opportunity for those Baptised as infants or children to reaffirm their faith as adults who have determined to continue in the way of Jesus.
At St Andrew’s Bacchus Marsh we welcome all people to our activities and facilities regardless of whether a person has been baptised or confirmed. If you wish to to talk about baptism for yourself or a child, please contact us below.
Weddings
St Andrew’s Bacchus Marsh welcomes couples who wish to get married at our church or wish to have a faith based leader officiate at a wedding.
This Church is open to marriages of mixed religion, divorced people and those with no religious affiliation. The service will follow the Rites of the Uniting Church of Australia and clergy from other denominations may participate after consultation with the church leadership.
Please contact us below if you have any questions or wish to discuss this further.
Funerals
St Andrew’s Uniting Church, Bacchus Marsh is available for use for funerals and memorial services to commemorate and remember the lives of all God’s children. Our ministers may also conduct services outside our church.
A wide array of church facilities can be made available for such occasions as we celebrate the lives of your loved ones alongside you. Please contact us to discuss further.
Holy Communion
Taking part in Holy Communion, also referred to as the Lord’s supper is an important ritual undertaken by baptised Christians. The Uniting Church in Australia chooses to practice an ‘Open Table’ where no one will ever be refused communion.
Communion is usually held on the first Sunday service of each month and everyone is welcome.

Who we are
St Andrews Uniting Church in Bacchus Marsh, and Pentland Hills Uniting Church in Myrniong are congregations of the Uniting Church in Australia (UCA). Both congregations have continuously operated in their respective towns and surrounding areas for over 150 years. Within the UCA, we are part of the Presbytery of Port Phillip West within the Synod of Victoria and Tasmania.
Our grounds and buildings are located on the lands of the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people with many of our congregation also residing on the lands of the Wadawurrung people. We serve in relationship with the Uniting Aboriginal and Islander Christian Congress and we commit ourselves to seeking the fullness of reconciliation in our Nation.
Together with the whole UCA, we are actively committed to the Safe Church program. All leaders undertake safe church training and hold a current working with children check.
Minister
Our previous minister in placement Rev David Withers retired at the end of 2023.
Our church is fortunate to have a number of retired ministers, lay preachers, and pastoral carers to assist in our congregation. We also have supply ministry whilst the congregation works towards the appointment of a new ministry agent. Our services and care continue during this time.
Church Council
St Andrew’s Uniting Church Bacchus Marsh is governed by a church council consisting of elders and church councillors elected by the members of the congregation. It operates as a not-for-profit entity registered with the Australian Not-for-profit and Charities Commission.
